Integration of the urban bus of Martos in the Consortium

Since January 1, the Martos city bus has been integrated into the Metropolitan Transport Consortium of the Jaén Area.

Since January 1st the urban bus of Martos is integrated in the Metropolitan Transport Consortium of the Jaén Area.

The use of the Consortium card will allow transfers from urban to metropolitan services or vice versa, as well as its use in the urban of the city of Jaén.

The territorial delegate of Development, Territorial Articulation and Housing, Miguel Contreras, the manager of the Transport Consortium, Sergio López, the mayor of Martos, Emilio Torres and Autocares Calvo S.L. signed, last December 29, the program contract with the Metropolitan Transport Consortium of the Area of Jaén for the fare integration of urban passenger transport services in the city of Martos.
This agreement aims to promote the use of public transport as one of the ways to solve in an efficient, rational and sustainable mobility needs in the metropolitan area.
Since January 1, 2024, all users can access with the Consortium card both the buses of the metropolitan services of Martos and the urban buses of the city. Regarding the price of the ticket with this Consortium card, it will be 0.80 €, reducing the current bonuses existing in the nominative cards of the Consortium, Youth Transport Card and Large Family Cards, whose discount is produced with the additional payment of balance when making each recharge and that

results in a lower price finally paid by the user. In addition, the use of the Consortium card will allow transfers from urban to metropolitan services or vice versa, as well as its use in the city of Jaén.

For this fare integration, the Jaén Area Metropolitan Transport Consortium has made an initial investment of more than 28,000 euros for the supply of ticketing systems, which includes the purchase of equipment and the development of software that allows duality between the Martos City Council's own tickets and payment with the card of the Jaén Area Metropolitan Transport Consortium or any other Metropolitan Transport Consortium of Andalusia.
